PUCRS hosts free IT professional training course for young people

The Web Programming course will be held in person and will last one semester at the Irmão José Otão Foundation (Fijo), at PUCRS

Those interested in entering the technology field can now enroll in the professional training course in Web Programming from the Instituto da Oportunidade Social (IOS). The course takes place at the Fundação Irmão José Otão (Fijo) and is aimed at young people aged 15 to 29, who are studying or have already completed high school in the public school system. Registration is open until August 28th at IOS website and classes take place in person from Monday to Friday, lasting up to six months, on the PUCRS Campus (building 2). The Social Opportunity Institute (IOS) has been working for 26 years to train and employ young people for the job market through free courses
The course offered does not require prior knowledge, and in addition to the specific content, administrative concepts are also covered with practical classes in management software, Portuguese and Mathematics, Employability, Citizenship and Behavior (Soft Skills). The curriculum also includes concepts and practices of corporate life, which teach students how to prepare emails, presentations, participate in meetings, have a business vision and even develop a product.
The course aims to train professionals capable of developing websites, from programming to web design, with the ability to learn new languages (CSS, HTML5 and Javascript) and excel in their profession. At the end of the course, students can participate in the IOS Opportunities Program, which seeks job openings mainly among the institution’s partner companies, in addition to university positions for three years after graduation.
IOS has already trained more than 45 thousand professionals for the Information Technology, Administration, HR and Customer Service sectors, increasing the income of these families by up to 63%.
