The Brief
• WSU’s Cougar Tracks program is launching a comprehensive seven-part AI training series for working professionals
• The program builds on successful fall workshops where participants requested deeper, more practical AI training
• Topics will range from AI ethics to prompt engineering and industry-specific applications
Richland— Washington State University Tri Cities Cougar Tracks program is expanding its artificial intelligence training offerings with a new multi-part series designed to help working professionals better understand and implement AI technology.
The comprehensive seven-part series builds on the success of two “Generative AI Essentials” workshops held last fall, where participants expressed strong interest in more advanced training and practical applications.
The expanded program will cover a broad range of AI topics, including ethics, prompt engineering and industry-specific applications. The curriculum is designed to address the growing need for AI literacy as the technology becomes increasingly integrated into both personal and professional environments.
“We are working hard to find ways to bridge the gap between theory and application so that our stakeholders feel ethically empowered to use AI,” said Michelle Hrycauk Nassif.
The Cougar Tracks program developed the expanded series in direct response to feedback from fall workshop participants who wanted deeper training and more hands-on tools. The new format aims to provide working professionals with clear, practical guidance they can immediately apply in their daily work.
The series will address how different industries can incorporate AI technology into their operations while maintaining ethical standards. Participants will learn not only the technical aspects of AI implementation but also the responsible use of these powerful tools.
The program is scheduled to launch in March or April, with enrollment details expected to be announced soon. The timing reflects Cougar Tracks’ commitment to staying current with rapidly evolving AI technology and workplace needs.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape various industries, the expanded training series positions WSU’s Cougar Tracks program as a leader in professional development education. The program’s focus on bridging theory and practical application addresses a critical need for workers seeking to stay competitive in an AI-enhanced job market.
