Xavier University has announced more details on its reimagined elementary academy that is set to welcome students this fall.St. Peter Faber Academy will serve as the Midwest’s first, and the nation’s second, Jesuit Catholic laboratory school.St. Peter Faber Academy will serve as a Catholic preschool and elementary school, serving students from age 3 through sixth grade, with grades seven and eight coming in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Students at the school will be educated using Ignatian Pedagogy, a model that “emphasizes excellence and compassion paired with the unique qualities of each student,” according to Xavier University.Sarah Bitzer will serve as the school’s inaugural principal, bringing 12 years of experience as a principal at two Catholic schools in the Cincinnati area.Bitzer is a Xavier graduate, holding a Master of Education Administration degree.“I am truly excited to embark on this incredible journey with our youngest learners as they experience the transformational learning that comes from being connected to Xavier University,” Bitzer said. “This unique partnership will provide a rare and valuable opportunity for our students to interact with Xavier students and professors. St. Peter Faber Academy will serve as a Catholic preschool and elementary school, serving students from age 3 through sixth grade, with grades seven and eight coming in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
